It snowed during the night and everything is lovely this morning.
Our daughter Stacie is on her way here with her two awful little barking ankle-biters, so we'll open a few presents later, sit around and watch A Christmas Story again, read, take naps and make a nice but simple dinner. It will be a quiet day, peaceful and relaxing.
But tomorrow, chaos will descend on our home, as David & Rose, our son and daughter-in-law, arrive from Chicago with our granddaughters Izzy, 4 years old, & Ollie, 1 year old. That's when everyone will sit around the tree opening presents, we'll have a big dinner and I'll no doubt fall asleep in front of the TV watching the real football games from England. It will be our slightly-delayed traditional family Christmas.
We feel not only lucky to have two days of Christmas this year, but a week+ with the grandbabies as well, and even now on Christmas morning, we're still full of anticipation and excitement.
Mary & I wish you all a Merry Christmas, a joyful week ahead and a Happy New Year.
