Today my clients were looking at a beautiful waterfront property along the Occoquan Reservoir. The only problem was we couldn't see the water for the fog. As we wandered the property we came across this old gazabo which had seen better days. The good news is the rest of the property was top notch and well cared for.
I'm hoping the 2 days of fog we've had will lift tomorrow so we can see the water again soon.
Tough showing waterfront properties when the fog obstructs the view. Hope this is the right home for your buyers.
I bet the new owners will replace, or repair this gazebo and enjoy a nice and relaxing time at this spot.
Cindy, that gazebo needs a lot of work, but probably would be nice place to enjoy the view if restored. Great photo.
Alan-I'm sure plenty of people enjoyed the view from there over the years.
Judith-the owners have built a new area to enjoy the river so this little gazebo may be forgotten.
Than-it may be a bit beyond repair but the owners did build a new walkway and deck in another location.
Rebecca-the current owners have a replacement observation point with an even better view.
That would be a really nice spot to enjoy an afternoon beverage on a stressful day. Think it needs a facelift.
Chris Ann-fortunately the owners have built a new place to enjoy the waterview.
Sounds like the new place means this spot will be left to fade away. Or, maybe a child will make it a favorite spot. You never know!
Joetta-I'd be inclined to take it down as I don't think it can be repaired. I'd personally but a screened in one so during the summer if the bugs got to bad I'd have a place to hang out without getting bitten.
Cindy, this is one of those pictures that makes me wish that it could talk and share it's story. It looks like it was nice once upon a time. Why was it built? What types of conversations were held there? Why was it allowed to fall into disrepair when the remainder of the house was well cared for?
