Ask an Ambassador: How do I get the most eyeballs?
Great blog by Alan May. If you're curious about groups, he's spelled out the details. Having recently read about the groups I joined, I learned I had posted blogs inappropriately. Make sure to read the intent of each group before posting to that group. Better yet, make yourself a cheat sheet so that when you're posting your listings or market reports, you are posting to the correct groups. Comment on Alan's blog please!
That's an excellent question, I'm so glad you asked!
Many newbies (and lots of old-bies) wonder how they can get more exposure for their blogs, and thereby more activity... more comments and more interaction.
One of the very best ways, within Active Rain, is to make sure when you post, you post to as many groups as you can. Active Rain maintains a maximum of five groups that you can post to, with any individual blog. So make sure that you post to all five groups. Which groups, you may ask?
Well, of course, that's up to you. You want to post to the groups that are appropriate based on your article. (posting the wrong article to a group, might get your post removed from that group... so be careful, read their directions) But you also want to make sure you get the most eyeballs.
Clicking on the "groups" header (at the very top of the page) will show you the list in my graphic. You'll notice it says "Most Active Groups"... you want the eyeballs in the most active groups... so scroll down that list. You can also see that Active Rain Newbies (that's you guys) has an incredible 13,083 members who read there.
To the right, you'll see the list of groups that I posted to in this post. This can also be a fun way
to find new groups to post in... look at the bottom of the posts of bloggers whose work you enjoy, and see where they're posting.
Find the groups that speak to you and that have lots and lots of members. That's one sure-fired way to have the most people view your posts.
