You think you need to order a special intro and drop ins for your real estate video. But remember the average movie these days out of Hollywood costs 40 million dollars. So your efforts to be slick, smooth and suave will probably stumble a little since your budget is a slightly less investment with your average $50,000 dollars cute cape in Maine! Check out this video between the Houlton Hodgdon Blackhawks Hockey Team and Presque Isle Wildcats contest in Maine this week. The editing took about a half hour, and the footage was a piece of cake to capture. But like the box of 128 crayons when you are used to using 8, be easy on the tons of effects and animation possibilities you can do. The difference is instead of store bought loops or drop ins, you make your own easy with local images to help your branding as the unique local connection. Scope out and see how easy a do it yourself with the tons of software editors out there. With the craze of reality shows...this local talent of live coverage is so much more interested to watch than staged scenes, actors from a studio and way way cheaper! Show them the local flavor...be a Clark Kent or Jimmy Olsen in your home town! The real, down to earth flavor of your area and the property is what you are trying to convey right? Your area is unique so packaging it like everyone else makes it look like everyone elses and gets lost in the sea of sameness! Also scope out the Blackhawks beating Winslow Black Raiders contest. Fun to catch players, coach and fans from Houlton that travel 3.5 hours to get to this game! That's fan support! That's local pride!

Very cool!  So this was your first job and love, video?  I think this idea and do agree the time has come for all of us to contribute to what the videos are online.  Excellent idea.  Now I have to work on imbedding video into my blogs.  Thanks for the reminder.

Andrew, I read your blog but am still unsure HOW you make a video template that you can use over and over.

Can you elaborate a little for us who tend more toward the un-tech-savvy side of things??  We want to start doing video, but that's just IT!  Where and how do we start?

Thanks or your help on this.

I blog a lot, relatively speaking, about Atlanta and all the city has to offer in the surrounding 16 counties that make up the metro area. I think that with such a large city, people want to know that neighborhoods and community centers and nature trails and the like are available. I think that branding your area and highlighting the tremendous variety of diversions that make your area unique is definitely what attracts prospective residents. Your videos are an excellent example of branding.

LOL, now I have to type peach!

Jacki and Jerry....there are a slew of video editors out there. Do you use something other than the basic windows movie maker that is loaded in your newer machine now or do you have an apple set up? You can animate your logo and area images in a quick intro / extro insertion that was saved under a file drop in unless you have editing program Columbus used on the way over.
