Real Estate Agents Using Mini-movies to Show Luxury Properties

By

Real Estate agents have recently began marketing luxury properties by creating short videos of their homes. They are not simply video tours, but mini-movies complete with actors and story lines. They target consumers by marketing not only the house itself, but the lifestyle that comes with it. It is an interesting concept that "strikes an emotional chord with people" in a way that typical real estate marketing does not often do.

Below are some examples of these videos.

Hey James,

Fascinating!  The mini-movie should provide another level for buyers to connect with listings.  I am curious if any testing of the concept was done by these brokers prior to making this mini-movies.  At a certain price point it appears to be good marketing.  Thanks for this post!  SUGGEST

My favorite was the last one.  The young girl did an awesome job and she is adorable.

This is a great idea in regards to marketing to SELLERS I believe. If a seller that is forking over the commission sits through several bleh listing presentations about virtual tours and syndicated listings, and then sees one of these in a top producing agent's portfolio as an ADDITIONAL way to market their luxury home (with no added cost to them), I believe it would be a win for that listing agent if the seller truly feels they are getting their money's worth. Luxury agents have to "go big or go home."

As for BUYERS, I have to agree with Carla on some level and wonder if buyers are sitting through the videos. I would guess not.

Very interesting to see what marketing strategies are being used for different niches - thanks for posting!

I'm with Carla.  I barely watch virtual tours and would not have the patience to sit through these.  As Andi says, "go big or go home". Getting these luxury listings requires you to go the extra mile.

Apparently everyone is in movies these days.  Brokers have radio shows, television shows and now the sellers want their properties to be in the movies.  What's next?  Anyone knows?

I was so busy watching the little doggie and thinking "WHEN is he going to pet the sweet thing?" I actually didn't see the house!  HA HA HA

Andi makes some very good points about the listing presentation having more door bells and whistles ;-)
