PEORIA HOME PRICES

For the month of May 2013, we saw an increase in listing prices in Peoria once again. In the past six months, the average listing price of a home in Peoria has increased 9%. From April to May, the average listing price increased 1.8%. As we move into the summer months, the time of year when schools are out of session and when most families will purchase a new home, we will likely continue to see an increase in homes prices across the city. So if you are thinking of buying a new home or vacation home in Peoria, don't wait until the end of summer when prices will be higher...it it time to start looking!

While we did see an increase in listing prices in the month of May, there was a small decrease in the average sales price of homes in Peoria during the month. Overall, the average sales price for a home in Peoria in 2013 was down 1.6% from the month of April.

PEORIA MARKET REPORT SUMMARY

As usual, things are heating up as we go into the summer months. There were 332 single family homes listed for sale in Peoria during the month of May. During the same time period, there were 317 single family homes that sold. We are not seeing a large surplus of homes on the market currently and homes are selling fast. For single family homes in Peoria, the average selling price was 95% of the original list price, so most homes are not accepting low-ball offers.
