Sausalito - A Place to Relax and Refresh

By
Real Estate Agent

The delightfully picturesque town of Sausalito provides stunning views of San Francisco Bay.  The citizen population numbering about 7000, or so, is generally considered artistic and affluent.   Quaint little shops and cafes line the main drive through town, and provides folks with a relaxed and refreshed state of mind.

I spent time there with grandkids today.  The ultimate destination was San Francisco, via the Golden Gate Bridge.  Sausalito is cradled just north of the bridge.

Alexandra - Generally I use the Bay Bridge to visit the city, but my grandson, Ryan, couldn't remember visiting Sausalito or the Golden Gate, so we traveled this route instead.  I'm really glad we did!

Endre - I don't know if I simply didn't recall Sausalito'a charms.  But, I really enjoyed our time there yesterday.  The little town has all kinds of delightful shops and cafes.  There is also a gallery with the art of Dr. Seuss.  Fascinating stuff!

Mike - It really is!  Very relaxed and laid back!

Sheila - From the time I was a kid, I've enjoyed taking photos to document experiences.  Thank you for your kind words!

Rebecca - If you have the opportunity to return to Sausalito, you should do so.  A truly quaint and fun place!

Myrl~ It does look relaxing and welcoming. I wouldn't mind making a stop, strolling the "main street" and stopping for a bite to eat.

Donna - And that's just what we did.  We had a great late breakfast, before traveling on into San Francisco.

Patricia - Today was a "licking my wounds" day.  I simply don't know where my energy went after we returned home.  I'm better once again this evening though!

Roy - You're very welcome.  I hope you have a great weekend too!

Myrl, your photos bring back memories. I was in Sausalito only once 25 years ago when my husband and I were doing some work for Eastman Kodak and we had a meeting at a beautiful home on Wolfback Ridge. Funny how you remember such odd things. I remember thinking how beautiful Sausalito was and how wonderful it would be to live there.

Gosh, Myrl, we go to the City all the time but never get around to crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. What a shame. I haven't been to Sausalito since the 1970s. My husband keeps bugging me about where I want to go on my birthday, so maybe I will say Sausalito! Gorgeous pics, as always.

Hi Myrl, This is like an island paradise. Haven't been there in quite a few years but I can attest to the fact that some of the homes are really magnificent. There is something romantic about about living and working there that is not like most other communities in CA. Loved it and need to ut back on the bucket list for next time.
