Stars and Stripes Forever March Cover

John Philip Sousa wrote "Stars and Stripes Forever" on Christmas Day in 1896. It is one of his best known marches

I suspect there isn't a marching band in America that doesn't have the music in its' repertoire for patriotic holiday parades

The Commodores are the US Navy's premier jazz ensemble. We enjoyed their version of the Sousa classic at a Harris Pavilion concert in Manassas

Now we hope you enjoy the video we made of their adaptation just as we are certain John Philip Sousa would have enjoyed it.

Karen, I can't help but believe that John Philip Sousa would definitely approve. I know he's had quite a career and list of accomplishments that many are not aware of, but as a side not John Philip Sousa led the Naval Band at the Great Lakes Naval Station just outside of Chicago where I'm from.
