SPEECHLESS SUNDAY:  Raindance in Palm Springs

Rain in Palm Springs

We have been doing our Raindance in the Palm Springs area for the last week as fires swept through the mountains surrounding our valley.  Last night I was awoken by the soothing sounds of the rain coming down.  We are told that the fires were 49% contained, but I'm hoping that this wonderful rainstorm will help the firefighters put out the rest of the fires!

We got our rain last night after a dry spell....lots of it too.  Flooding of streets and basements all over the area.

This is the weirdest weather.  The U.K. and Europe are baking and we have their weather.  We just got drizzle yesterday, but I am glad you got rain to douse those fires.

Well, thank goodness for the rain!  Hopefully, the wildfires plaguing your area will soon be quelched!  I love the effect of the raindrops on the window with the palms in the scene.

Thank you so much Myrl!  When I saw the clouds on the mountains, I pulled my car over and took some photos through my windsheild... the effect turned out pretty cool!  Happy to have the rain!  Kathy

Kathy - There is nothing better than a good rain storm when you've got wildfires that need to be contained.  Great photo!

I don't know if the rains will put out the fires, but it sure does help slow things down Kathy.

Cathy, glad you got some of the wet stuff!  And yikes.  Fires have to be scary to live around.

Hi Kathy,

Wasn't the rain a blessing to the area. So many were holding their breaths in Idyllwild and Palm Springs. So glad it is 99% contained. You must have done a good job of dancing!
