Distractions While You are Blogging?

By
Real Estate Agent with Sharon Paxson, Realtor® EQTY Forbes Global Properties 01501912

Do you ever have distractions while you are blogging? Are your children calling your name or is your dog barking. I have both.

I have a big red distraction and his name is Patrick.

patrick

Patrick is a five year old Irish Setter who still acts like a puppy. Patrick will put his face on my desk while I am writing, and occasionally will even try and stand up on my desk to get my attention, or he lays on the floor and STARES while I am writing.

I know what he wants though - he always wants to go on a walk. And when I take him, it is like marlin fishing. Occasionally, I let him tow me on my skate board (risking life and limb), and if he goes too fast I have to drop the leash. I let him pull me around my neighborhood in Newport Beach.

Patrick is a definitely a familiar member, he knows how to open the door to let himself out, he just hasn't mastered closing it yet.

Patrick opens the door the pantry if he wants a biscuit. He is kind of finicky though - he would rather chase birds than eat his food.

What a face!  I've always thought this breed was cute.

Of course, my daughter only wants to talk to me if I'm on the phone, and the cats love to sit on whatever it is I'm reading at the time.  Believe me, I know what you mean!

Sharon, I love Patrick! He would steal any show! Thanks for sharing about Patrick! I love the part about "marlin" fishing.

What a handsome baby!  I have a five year old Rottweiler who still thinks he is a puppy.  My theory is the larger the dog, the longer the adolesence.  Gus sticks his nose under my arm while typing, just to let me know he is there.  It is impossible to type with his nose there.

And my teen aged sons still only seem to need me when I am on the phone!

Sharon- My distraction is an eighteen month old rotty named Sampson. He bumps my elbow while I'm writing or typing to get my attention. At 95 Lbs his bumps are like slams. He just wants love.

Sharon, what a handsome guy you have!  :)   They are such sweet dogs.  If he likes to pull you on a skateboard you should try a dog scooter!

Patrick is a beautiful dog.  I know about doggie distractions.  Myt Poos decide that when I am busy that is the time to sneak and raid the kitchen or some other nefarious activity.

I would teach Patrick to type, so he can have his own blog...wait a minute:  an out-of-the-box idea!  How about having a link to a blog all about a dog's life in Newport Beach?  Could attract a dog-lover's niche!

I think Patrick would like Inca, my Aussie.  He looks like a super friend!

Kent - I think it is a great idea about a "dogs life in Newport Beach" - if I write it I will link it to your comment!

Sharon, I have a few distractions too, and of course they are never like this when I'm finally relaxing on the couch it's only when I'm at my desk, blogging, space planning or whatever!!

Sharon,  I have 8 distractions...5 cats, a border collie (still a puppy at 8 years), a 3 year old little boy, and a husband.  Of course, without them, I wouldn't have much to talk about.  I get to my office 2 hours early everyday in order for quiet time.

Patrick is fabulous, what a good looking dog.  He obviously brings you great joy.

What a wonderful picture.  Patrick is gorgeous.

My Golden Retriever, "Simba" pushes on my arm - over and over and over - he knocks my hands off the keys while I am typing....LOL He also knows the sound of my computer shutting down.  He hears it and starts running and jumping in circles for attention.  He gives such joy!

Right now, as I am responding to your post, I have a cold wet nose bumping my left elbow.  It's Hunter, my Springer.  When he moves, Keating, my other Springer will take his place.  When Keating gets tired, Charlie, my other, other Springer will try to clime in my lap.  When Charlie gives up, Abbey (aka Her Royal Highness Queen Abbigale) will demand that I stop what I am doing and play with her.  After Abbey gives up, Rocky, my other, other, other, other Springer will jump up and down to tell me that it is time for cookies.  After I give everyone a cookie, Hunter will come up and start bumping my left elbow with his cold wet nose........................

Why can't I get anything done ?

John - I sometimes keep cookies in my pocket and he knows that I have them there! Patrick is very persistant with standing on my desk (don't spill my coffee) and trying to get in my lap . . . they are good distractions!
