Ketchikan Gets 13 Feet of Rain a Year

I have this strange urge to adopt some of these guys and take them back to Sacramento with me, perhaps offer them a new home in my front yard, next to the maples. My husband says they would clash with our decor, but I say totem poles go with everything -- just like you can wear blue jeans with anything. This is in Ketchikan, Alaska.

I don't know which I would love to have in my landscaping, a totem pole or a man's suit of armor.

Perhaps the totem pole in the landscaping and the man's suit of armor in the foyer.

13 feet of rain!  We get about three feet a year; wow, that's one wet place!

It was sunny and beautiful when we got off the plane. Within minutes, a downpour. It has rained about every 2 hours. That's what rain jackets are for, though.

I remember from my Alaskan cruise learning that Alaska has the largest temperate rain forest in the world.  They do get a ton of rain up there.

Hi Elizabeth! Of course, everyone needs a totem, I think you should get one.

Elizabeth~ We took an Alaskan cruise for our honeymoon 14+ years ago and that was one of our stops and remember seeing quite a few totems. I wouldn't mind having a few too and I agree, they go with everything! :-)
