Have you wondered or dreamed of a "wine country or vineyard" Lifestyle? A wine country or vineyard lifestyle is available right here in the foothills of Placer County. I look out my windows and see vineyards, then I see the valley then I see snowy mountains (well in the winter). Placer County has so much to offer.

Of course, I'm a resident here along with my husband and Broker of Pierson Real Estate and Investments. We enjoy living here, quiet setting, close to nature... So what exactly is a vineyard lifestyle? A vineyard lifestyle can be different things to different people. Yes, yes... I know get on with it!

So let's make a short list:

  • Buy acreage, plant a vineyard, make your own wine / or sell grapes
  • Buy a vineyard, with or without a home and make your own wine / or sell grapes
  • Buy a vineyard and go through the winery approval process...
  • Buy a vineyard and create your own virtual winery
  • Buy in a vineyard community, drive by and looking at and enjoying vineyards... have no work on your part... buy and drink wine!

Making wine is lots of work... owning a vineyard is also demanding... But, there are many that enjoy this experience as we do. There is just something about having your own wine and label. In Placer County we are blessed with beautiful open hillsides and chaparral settings. Early in the Placer County history, vineyards and wine making were nearly as popular as gold mining... Actually, more profitable since the results were locally sold. Prohibition nixed the grapes which were replaced with fruit orchards.

But, in recent years wineries and wine making have made a come back. There are currently no less than 17 wineries in Placer County most can be found on the Placer County Wine Trail. Vineyard communitiess in Placer County include The Vineyard,  Clos du Lac,Terracina Estates and Montserrat in Loomis The Vineyard is only 2 miles from central Auburn where as Clos du Lac is in Loomis roughly 20 minutes from Granite Bay shopping.  And only minutes from some of the best schools in Placer County.

Vineyard lifestyles of Placer County allow families to surrender to the lush countryside, warm summers cold winters (most areas no snow). In Placer County you will experience the seasons and with vineyards the budding of new leaves.. the lush greens of fully leafed vines with the purple clusters and bunches hanging heavily on the neatly cropped rows... to the rioting colors of fall reds, oranges, purples that take compete with the Japanese Maples and stand in contrast to the majestic white oaks and the tall deep green pines.

If you haven't made a visit to Placer County you owe yourself a visit... Perhaps a vineyard lifestyle is in your future. If so, be sure to give us a call or drop us a line. We are happy to share our vineyard and vineyard life style with old and new friends. Can't wait until our next picking "party". No sorry to disappoint, we do not stomp with bare feet... But, we do have a fabulous time with family and friends. Looking forward to visiting with you about your dreams... ~ Cheers Ingrid
