LOUDOUN COUNTY LANDFILL - Recycle or Dispose Of Just About Anything.
You're going to love this place.
Since I live in the countryside of Loudoun County, I have no trash collection. Oh, sure, I could contract with some of the private companies that offer the service out here. However, my home has a long driveway and not condusive to trash trucks nor do I want to haul the large cans to the roadsice, if there were someplace to put them, which there isn't.
So, I rely on the Loudoun County Landfill. The cost is nominal, all I can loan in my vehicle for $6.00. Once a month is sufficient since recycling is right in Lovettsville.
Acceptable materials include:

- Automotive (lead acid) batteries (no charge)
- Antifreeze: ethylene glycol and propylene glycol (no charge)
- Motor oil, automatic transmission fluid, power steering fluid, diesel fuel, gear oil, turbine engine oil, hydraulic oil, and kerosene (no charge)
- Automotive tires (fee assessed)
- Scrap metal (fee assessed)
- Yard waste, arboreal waste (fee assessed)

Mixed bottles and cans (no charge if using Recycling Dropoff Center):
- Glass bottles and jars
- Aluminum and steel cans
- #1- #7 Plastic containers (water bottles, soda and juice bottles, milk jugs, other beverage bottles, condiment bottles, plastic jars, laundry detergent jugs, soap bottles, shampoo bottles, squirt bottles, spray bottles, microwave food trays, and wide-mouth tubs and lids, leave lids on plastic bottles)
Excludes: All forms of Styrofoam, motor oil and antifreeze bottles, and
containers used for hazardous substances
- Newspapers, magazines, catalogs, phonebooks, office paper, junk mail, paperback
books, hard cover books, cardboard, and paperboard i.e. cereal boxes, paper towel rolls, etc.

Just drive through and your vehicle is weighed. After dumping the materials from your vehicle, they weigh again on the way out. The minimum fee is $6.00 which is sufficient for a car load for me.
