Holy cow, what now? Buyer is concerned about the septic.
At Desert Sun Home inspections in Carlsbad New Mexico.
We get the chance to see all kinds of issues the home owners want listed in the report.
Some are more serious than others. But when we show up at a home to inspect the home and the Septic has been opened up for all to see. Of course we are going to take a look and take a few pictures as well.
After all, it's not everyday we get to see a naked septic sitting in the back yard.
We were told by the Realtor that the Septic was uncovered by the septic inspection company and they were waiting for the State inspector to come out and inspect the unit.
I quickly measured the septic and it was a 900 gallon tank. A small unit for the size of the home.
This is a three bedroom one bath home. The state of New Mexico has a minimum when it comes to the size of any septic being installed. This size was correct before the addition of the third bedroom. Now in my opinion the septic is too small for the states minimum requirements.
Even though I was not there to inspect the septic. I still had the suspicions that the septic was too small.
Take a look at what we found when inspecting the home.
As you can see this septic is a very small septic.
The inspection company that dug the septic up also damaged the incoming piping.
As "Uncle Bob" would say "That should do it" as they wrapped the pipe with duct tape.
Then to add insult to injury the pipe going to the leach line is also leaking.
Did they leave this like this to get a possible septic install job?
Or are they being as honest as they could be?
Have a great day every One.
