Apple to Launch Manufacturing Facility in East Mesa

The Governor’s Office made a press release announcing that Apple, one of the world’s largest technology companies, will be constructing a new manufacturing facility at the old First Solar facility.  The conversion of the more than 1 million-square-foot facility will bring a more than 1,300 construction jobs and a projected 700 permanent positions upon its first year opening.  While the construction process will take a while to convert the facility into something usable, Apple wants to get started right away on the process and anticipates beginning within the next few weeks or following months.

This announcement is one of the latest for Mesa, following on the heels of the opening of the mixed-use development Eastmark on the former GM proving grounds, the expansion of the Phoenix-Gateway Airport, and the planned satellite campus by Grand Canyon University.  Arizona State University’s Polytechnic campus is also on the leading edge with new technological expansions to the area.

East Mesa is still greatly affordable and quickly becoming one of the more desirable areas of the Phoenix Metro Area with improvements to roads and freeways along with a combination of the beauty of the natural desert and Superstition Mountain.  With plenty of things to do in the surrounding area, Mesa is becoming the ideal live, learn, work, and play location in the Valley.

Gina, Apple continues to out shine the market in their innovation. Now if only Tesla will follow suit and quickly build a battery manufacturing plant so they can meet the production demands of consumers wanting efficient vehicles. I bundle both Apple and Tesla together, because they are both cutting edge companies that are proving that America continues to design and build quality products.
