Way back, what seems like a 100 years ago, I attended a sort of "life changing" real estate event, right here in my own city of Atlanta. That event was called ReTech South. The year was 2008.
I had just joined Active Rain the year before, and my memory of the time line is a bit fuzzy. But at that event, I had an opportunity to meet many people in real life that I had met already in my short time in The Rain. The classic picture to the right just shows that even way back then, we all had our cameras out to record the moments and memories being made. Pay attention to the black camera on the right...
Fast forward to November, 2013.
One of those long lasting true friendships I have formed is with the one and only....Debe Maxwell.
I was fortunate enough to be included by Debe in a "business changing" Mastermind Group where I was able to learn more about how to build my business through my own website built on a WordPress platform. Without that group...I'm not sure I'd be writing this post.
Since then, we've met in Atlanta several times, and I've ventured to Charlotte twice, including this week.
My lender partner extrodinaire, Brian Dover with Sharpe Mortgage was headed to Charlotte to meet Debe's team at Savvy & Co. I offered to ride along and keep him company. (Well that's what I told him...I really just needed a Debe fix!) It was a great couple hours, even if they were only a couple hours.
I can truly say I've met some amazing people through Active Rain, and many of them I've yet to have that "in real life" meeting. I hope there will be many more in the future. But of those I have met, they have grown past business friendships to true friendships.
