A Rose is A Rose, Sunday Photos

In a poem written way back in 1913 by Gertrude Stein, the sentence was used to express that things can be exactly what they appear to be. There are times when it is appropriate, and in these photos, it’s a statement of fact.

On our trip to Arizona, we saw a Desert Rose. It is not the easiest plant to grow, much less bloom, deserts being what they are.

A desert rose can take as long as 5 years to bloom.  We were fortunate that this plant decided to smile for us the day we visited. This rose was a rose and a very beautiful one as well.

Ed, great job in taking the picture of the desert rose.  This is the first time I have seen one, it is a beautiful flower.

I've heard of Desert Roses, and although I've been to Arizona a few times, I don't recall seeing one.  They really are a treat to look at, aren't they!

Hi Ed, Thanks for sharing this very unique and rare flower. I have not seen one in person but I have seen photos. Yours is better of course, :-)
