I see many posts on the benefits of blogging and advice on how to blog, what to blog about and how to actually make it pay off. You people are much more generous than I as I try to keep that information quiet. I work at a very successful brokerage in a very high end market. The agents are all full time, very professional and always looking for an edge on the competition but they just can't quite figure out how the world of the internet, social media and blogging works. They don't see me too often in the meetings and therefore wonder how I do it....and I'm not telling. The community on AR that actually participates is a very tech savvy crowd but I've decided that the rest of the real estate world just doesn't quite see the value, or at least doesn't know how to do it. And I think I like it that way.
Keith, even when you spread the word, blogging requires work - patience - commitment. How many of them have it anyways?
Keith, I think for the most part folks on AR have a sharing mentality. I know what I know about blogging because lots of "someones" took the time to share with me along the way, so we do so also. Now would I feel the same way about going into my local brokerage and others in the area to train people how to blog? Uhhh....maybe not so much :)
I guess it's true....just because we share the knowledge doesn't mean most have the patience and persistence to use it successfully.
I agree with Praful, blogging and social media do require a lot of time and patients. Not to mention, blogging also requires a level of creativity to draw people in. But I can completely understand the desire to keep a competative edge. Thanks for sharing.
