Time for some quality control. Desert Sun Commercial Inspections Hobbs New Mexico.
I was called in for another inspection on the commercial project in Hobbs New Mexico.
They were progressing at a faster pace than in the last Two inspections.
But there was a couple of issues that I had to discuss with the site supervisor.
I asked when Quality control takes over. Thinking this should be an ongoing inspection process when any building is being erected. I would think that a company tis size would have a Quality control supervisor on site at all times.
This was not the case. I brought the several issues I found to the attention of the site supervisor the have the issues addressed.
Here is what I found when inspecting this commercial project on my last visit.
Take a look at these anchors. there are Four of them in each base. All four need to be tight.
Even though this is not the end of the world. Why are the nuts not tight?
For proper installation these have to be tightened and torqued to a specific pound of torque.
I was not looking to find a lot of issues. But when I found these issues. I wondered how many more were loose.
I informed the site supervisor that there is a safety issue in the collision center.
There is an overhead door installed too close to the walk in service door.
Take a look at the chain for the door.
The chain is hanging in the way of the door. A guide will need to be installed. But this will actually limit the proper usage of the chain assembly.
This means the guide for the chain needs to be made of a nylon material. This way each time the chain slides against the guide when the door is being opened and shut, you don't have a ton of noise.
Just another day in the life of Desert Sun Commercial inspections in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
This is why you always have a "Commercial progress Inspection" by a certified inspector. For the peace of mind.
