It was 6am on a Friday morning. Today was a big day for the Brivity team, as last night at Inman Next, Greg Robinson (co-founder, W&R Studios) had recognized Brivity as being among the top CRMs for real estate agents. I woke up to a text from my boss, Brivity CEO, Ben Kinney. Naturally, I assumed it was a congratulatory "well done", or perhaps a forewarning for the busy day of demos ahead. Needless to say, I was pretty unprepared when the text read "how much does www.brevity.com cost?". The next 10 minutes or so was a whirlwind of confusion and then surprise, and finally frustration as I realized what had happened.
Apparently even a top CRM in real estate can still be misspelled, especially when your product name so closely resembles an actual word. Upon checking my Twitter feed, I quickly realized that the product (Brivity) that I know, love, and sell was not, in fact, the product being recognized. Instead, some fantastical product called "Brevity" was displayed on the slides shown. Bummer. I guess that's what happens when your product is a victim of autocorrect.
Well, what can you do? We were certainly fortunate to have a version of our name displayed, incorrect or no, and I still feel honored. Still, I thought I would shine the light on what may be an area of confusion for agents who are desperately scouring Google search results for the infamous "Brevity": try "www.brivity.com".
Oh, and in case you were wondering, www.brevity.com is currently priced at a number higher than my house is worth. We'll stick with www.brivity.com.
