Has auto-correct become your worst emema? Mimi Foster's husband, David Feith, posted a photo on Facebook today that made me laugh not only because it was funny, but because the idea has actually cost me clients.
The sign said, "Auto-correct has become my worst enema?" If you're part of the texting community, you've learned the value and horror of auto-correct. I recently lost a client because of two texts. The first one was an auto-correct where I sent him a note with his name as the first word. Unfortunately, it changed his name to a verb and not his name.
The second text was another auto-correct nightmare that again corrected my client's name to woman's name. Well, that was the end of our relationship. After six showings and a confirmed favorite property, one or two auto-correct snafus ended our relationship. I guess when you have a unique name, auto-correct is not your friend.
Not everyone is that touchy, but some people are. I should have caught the corrections before they launched, but in each case, I saw it as it launched. Be careful out there. Auto-correct is not always your friend. Has auto-correct become your worst enema?
