A Tale of Ketchup, One Napkin & No Water

Jacksonville Beaches, FL Homes For Sale

I don't usually do this. I really don't. I'm not kidding.

I had an impromptu 1:30pm showing today, and no "real" time for lunch (I know), so I got a Whopper Jr - it's not horrible on calories, and it was portable, so it filled the gap.

I was also wearing white capris in honor of the springlike temps we had here in Jacksonville, FL today.

Do you see where this is going?

Yup. Despite my best efforts, I managed to get not just one big drop of runny ketchup to hit my capris, I managed three.

With one napkin

And no water.

And the house I was showing? A short sale that had the water turned off.

I did the best I could - and, no, it's not life ending. But it made me think about all the people who think we have such a "glamorous life" being Realtors.  There are many funny instances in our day to day working lives!

I have definitely considered what I order when I have to make one of those fast food runs for just this reason.

Hi Carol - My sympathies. I pretty much need a rain poncho when I try to eat fast food on the run - if it's spillable, I'm the right guy to spill it. And shamefully, it's not that rare for me to wind up in the drive-thru.

Carol, I hope you are able to get the ketchup out of your pants. We are human and these things happen. At times, with all that we do in this business I think we are super human.

Hi Carol.  I guess it has happened to all of us.   At home I keep an apron to wear when microwaving and eating before an appointment.  I feel so 1950's in an apron!  But it works.

Carol- trust me, I am your twin.  When we go to baseball or football games, and should we have hotdogs, you will know it by the mustard on my shirt. And, this is why when I have to eat on the run like that, I opt for the Mcnuggets.  I have a better chance of hitting my mouth with them.

Bummers Carol.  My wife put "stain remover" packets in my glove box for those kind of accidents.

Carol, after previous experience, when in need of a fast food fix I order the burgers plain! Enjoy your day!

I like those litttle portible stain removers too Carol.

The memory of my imaginary Uncle Joe will always linger in my mind anyway.

Happy April Fools day!

Hi Carol, You left out one thing. After all said and done, they didn't like the house enough to put down an offer, or they didn't want to wait, since it was a short sale. That's our way of life. We go through a lot of aventures, before we make any money, and somehow, we still love our job.

Chris Ann - it's been SO long, I guess I forgot how to both order & eat on the run!

Dick - c'mon! You can multitask! I'm the one that can't!

Kathleen - it didn't come out the first time, but it will the next time...or I'm going shopping.

Dianne - that does sound very 1950's!

Conrad - maybe I need a lifeguard to look out for me. Last time I had one of those things, it emptied itself out in whatever bag it was in and then I dumped it.

Wayne - good advice!

Noah - I'll have to reinvest in those for days like yesterday. And, sorry about Uncle Joe :-)

Larry - you nailed it! Not only that, I've emailed and texted, and zero response...

Larry & Sheila - if they only knew how "glamorous" our lives really are!

Andrew - you would have made a YouTube video out of it...just occured to me. I need to ask myself WWAD for What Would Andrew Do?

Margaret - with me, it's always white that I spill on the most!
Sally & David - great reply!

I enjoyed reading your story. I think it is something about the color white because when I wear white that is when I often have similar emergencies.
