With all the inclement weather this year many of the school districts around the Houston area have different inclement weather make-up days. Houston ISD usually has Good Friday off but due to our cold winter this year it will be a make-up day. Houston Independent School will hold classed this Friday as one of its make-up days. However, if you are Katy ISD you will have a Holiday. Your make-up day is Memorial Day.
I'm not sure what our school system routine is. I have to call it Black Friday I just can't bring myself to say Good Friday.

Yolanda my AR friend, folks will appreciate you helping to know and the might nice explanation. We have been having both rain and snow falling here all day, along with mighty high winds. They are also say our temps will be going down in the Freezing range yet again.

Our Maryland school systems have also extended the school year and changed some holidays to make up for snow days.
Yolanda-With all the separation issues (church-state) it's kind of surprising there is any school closing for the Good Friday-Easter Holiday.
Yolanda Cordova-Gilbert, it sounds like Katy, Texas got a fair share of snow this year. Great job highlighting the difference between Katy's good Friday and Houston, where there will not be one. Keep up the hard work!

Good information to pass on to parents as most of the time info nver makes it home from the children. Many parenmts are very busy and figure it is a holiday as usual.
I sure hope all the cold weather is behind us. It is so chilly this evening, the heater is on -April 16! This is Texas!!!!
