I got a call last week from "Susan." Her parents are in their mid 80s and are going to be relocating back to the Fort Wayne area.
They are in town for a week and asked if they could meet with me to get on the same page.
We met in their hotel lobby.
I had a pen, a notebook, and my reading glasses.
We sat down at one of the tables and talked real estate for about 20 minutes.
Once we were all on the same page there, the fun began.
They told me stories about how Fort Wayne used to be "back in the day."
We talked about their kids and their grandkids.
We talked about what they used to do for a living.
We talked about the senior community they were leaving behind, and how much they were going to miss it and all of the activities they participated in.
They told me that I could have my computers and my cell phone. They wanted no part of those things.
We talked for close to an hour before we parted ways.
I'm more than happy to help these sweet and kind people. I'm honored.
My days are usually 150 mph from the time I wake up to the time I lay my big melon on my pillow to go to sleep.
Today was nice. It was good to lean back, learn, and chat.
I needed it.
