These New Features Have Got Me Thinkin'...

So I was reading about the new features that are coming soon here at ActiveRain. I read a post by Bob Stewart listing all of the wonderful things that we will be able to do soon. There were a bunch that I really look forward to using.

One in particular caught my eye – Taking a Member in a Comment!

So I had an idea, what would happen if I started including the @ symbol before the names of people before the change takes effect? If you were to included @Bob Stewart in the comments of posts today, would he be notified once the change happens?

Would the Bob Stewart name be a link to his Mini Profile when that happens? Or how about all those comments where people have left full names in the comments section, will they suddenly be links after the July 28^th change?

I don't know the answer but feel free to use this post as a testing site for any pre-linking that you may have in mind. I'm curious to see what will happen, how about you?

Hi Tom - According to Bob, we have a setting that will let us turn off those notifications if we don;t want to see them. As for me, I want to know who is talking crap about me :)

Tom~ Good question, my guess is that it won't recognize it, but we won't know until we try, will we? Do we need to put in a space or run the word all together. If we try it both ways, how will we know which way worked? Too much to think about!
