Back to School in Crofton, Maryland

By
Real Estate Agent with Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc.

If you don't have any school-age children in your household, you may not realize that most Anne Arundel County students in grades 1-9 will start school tomorrow, August 25, 2014.

Crofton Elementary is the only local school where opening is delayed, but just one day until August 26, when the high school students will also start school. Kindergarteners have a staggered schedule until after Labor Day.

Expect slight delays in getting to work as school buses and carpools are on the road again, after a two-month hiatus. Those pesky crossing-guards will be out in force, too.

Take care, and allow a little extra time when you leave home tomorrow.

For a look at the complete school calendar, visit the Anne Arundel County Public Schools online.

Margaret, this is great advice.  I can't believe it's that time of year again.  Baltimore County schools go back on Wednesday.

The schools in our area go back on Tuesday after Labor Day - but great reminder. Driving carefully around the schools is very important!

Sharon Paxson and Ronald DiLalla  - The grown-ups around here, at least my generation of grown-ups, always comment that we went back to school on the day after Labory Day, too. And we got out the first week of June! The only thing we can figure is that the MD law requiring 180 days of classtime must not have been in effect then. Either that or they have many more holidays and snow days throughout the year now.

June Piper-Brandon - When you don't have kids, you lose track of these things. I almost always find myself getting behind school buses and parents turning into Crofton Woods Elementary a few times before I change routes for the next 10 months.
