Wanda good for you, it's amazing how some people don't mind bothering us bon't won't bother their agent.  I've had something similar happen to me also.

Wow.  You cannot make this stuff up!  What a rude person.  You spelled it out for her and she still didn't see what she was doing?  Ugh.

Wanda, there needs to be a certain level of respect between caller and professional even if it's a preliminary call. I've had calls sometimes just simply to ask questions and that's okay but please and thank you go a long way as well.

Hmmmm ... I must be overlooking the logic of this statement!  What??  And believe it or not, I get calls with much the same askew logic.  They don't want to bother or can't get ahold of their own Mortgage Lender and want to ask financing questions.   It always makes me wonder if the other professional gave them the impression they couldn't call ... or if it's just the thinking of that specific client.  Either way, it's not good ...

Wanda, I myself have had customers calling me and asking for answers, they do state that they have a Realtor, but will also search for themselves. I have had my own customers tell me that they went and spoke to the agent and got some answers. That is when I step in and nicely tell them that If they want something or have questions to please call me. You did what we hope all agents will do, send them back and be loyal....

Wanda - I applaud your bravery but I will say that I do answer calls on Sunday - and every other day. I guess I do because - (a) though I do have a solid pipeline I'm always looking for business (b) most of my calls are people on vacation with limited time and (c) we have a team here and I know I can pass someone off - but like to be sure I'm responding.

I do understand that one can feel that their person has a life and you don't so why not call - but ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Great response to her. It amazes me just how inconsiderate people are. 

Classic story. I think we have all been there and done that. On one phone call I explained to some buyers if your agent doesn't pick up the phone on the weekends and that's important to you, then you need a new agent. 9 months latter they called me back and I sold them a house.

As ridiculous as this seems, it has happened to me, too!  And, from the looks of it, to many other commenters.  For me, it's usually someone whose realtor "lives too far away" or is "on vacation this week."  Like you, I advise the caller to wait until his/her realtor is available, because I am not!

I know I try to take Sundays off too, but that does not always happen.  When business presents itself, off I go!

I probably would have picked on her a little more and asked her to explain why she thought it was OK to bother me and ask me questions about other agents' listings when I'm not getting paid a dime and her agent, the one who is going to get paid by representing her, doesn't have to talk to her because she's giving him a break, and why she thinks that is fair or the way to do business. Because I'd be genuinely interested how a person could rationalize that kind of behavior.

It sounds like she should have been looking for a different since it's so obvious that she prefers to have one that works on Sundays.  That's a bad matchup between client and agent.  I would have been curious as to who her client is, because if she as a client will be that rude, I would be wondering who she was working with her and felt sorry for the agent. 

I  would be wondering which agent she called last Sunday and the Sunday before that since her agent doesn't work on Sunday(s).
