Best or Top Rated Steakhouse in Columbus Ohio
Are you looking for the best steakhouse in the Columbus Ohio area? This is probably all relative and of course you can look on sites such as yelp, trip advisor and urban spoon and get a plethora of reviews and information but of course, people's mood, attitude, and general consensus for the day all play a factor in what counts as one of the top-rated steakhouses in Columbus.
I'll tell you my favorite and then give you some of the other best steakhouses in the area and what people are saying about them.
#1. Ruth's Chris steakhouse is my ultimate favorite. The filet mignon is cooked perfection with a perfectly seared crest on the outside and mouthwatering juiciness on the inside. You can practically cut this steak with a spoon. Now, most people know that filet mignon, although it is the king of steaks, it's not always the most flavorful. That is not a problem at Ruth's Chris steakhouse. The top this thing with the most delicious compound butter full of herbs and buttery saltiness. Plus, you can't forget their delicious sides of garlicky mashed potatoes, crispy lemon green beans and loads of other options. Yes, it's pricey, but for a great night out, you can't beat the delicious filet mignon, ribeye steaks and New York Jets at Ruth Chris steakhouse.
#2 Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse has to be on the list as one of the top steak houses in Columbus. Located at Union Station in downtown Columbus, this amazing restaurant has a four-star rating, beautiful outdoor dining with gorgeous views of the area, private dining areas and cozy fireplaces. This is the perfect place to enjoy a fabulous custom-made martini, glass of red wine and red meat. Speaking of meat, not only do they have delicious prime rib, porterhouse steaks and New York's but also crabcakes, he tuna, and delicious sides. This restaurant takes great care in giving you one of the best steaks you'll ever have. Add a little pat of compound butter on top and you've got yourself a meal fit for a king.
#3. J. Gilberts Wood-fired Steaks and Seafood comes in at number three of our favorite steakhouses in Columbus Ohio. This is also a chain as they have restaurants in Kansas City, St. Louis, Washington DC and Hartford. Their prime cut woodfired steaks and seafood were inspired by a Kansas City steakhouse and they take impeccable care to bring you the top of the line cuts, dry aged rib eyes and stakes plus unique dishes such as Wagu beef burger and made from scratch seven layer coconut cake. Grab a delicious steak, top it with some Maytag bleu cheese butter and aside of creamy mushroom risotto with a rosemary demi-sauce and you're in umami heaven.
#4. Mitchell's Steakhouse comes in at number four on our list of favorite steakhouses. There are three restaurants to choose from, to in the Columbus area alone. One is located downtown and the other in the Polaris neighborhood. Mitchell's has steakhouse classics and custom menus with three courses including an appetizer, entrée and dessert. They have happy hour events, a Southern inspired cigar dinner, any unique drink selection only found at Mitchell's. If you're looking for the steakhouse provide, comfortable leather booth seats, a professional staff, and juicy Cabernet is to go with your hearty piece of meat, you'll find it at Mitchell's Steakhouse. This restaurant is just a few blocks from downtown hotels and a great place for a juicy filet or a creamy bowl of lobster bisque.
#5. The Top comes in just under Mitchell's steakhouse although it's quite a strong contender. The Top sets the stage with the 1950s supper club feel and you almost expect Frank Sinatra to be playing in the corner. This Columbus icon has been serving juicy, charbroiled steak, jumbo lobster tails, slow roasted ribs and signature items for over 55 years. Some people say this is some of the best primer they've ever had and with the ambience and decor from a time gone by, you'll never have an experience quite like that at The Top. This old-school place does it right and they're certainly not messing around on making a great steak.
