Drawing the Line…...

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Referral Group Incorporated

It is often tough to deal with dilemma or hardship without embracing angst. Sometimes after enough time and with enough disappointment we think about becoming something that we are not, and of doing things we have never done. One of those things is deciding that something significant must be done right now. What happens next is often drawing a line from which there is no retreat. Do this or else.

Be careful friends, once you draw that line, you can never take it back. Thoughtful folks don't draw lines, don't respond to ultimatums, and don't generally deal with those who do. Work hard and listen well. There is generally a solution that is possible and it comes to those who think, and wait and contemplate all options. Be kind, be creative and be mindful of the consequences of certainty.

Not sure where you are coming from Sheila but I do have to agree with you that thoughtful consideration of any issue will mitigate reactiveness and help us think before we do anything we might regret.

Hi Sheila, I use to go way out of my way to avoid conflict and foolishness, now I walk away from those who seem to thrive on it. I'm with Evelyn, I don't like playing games.

I thought the "red line" being constantly moved when I read your post.  I wish everyone thought you couldn't move the line once you drew it in the sand.

Good morning Sheila. It depends on who is drawing the line. I hear some take a public stand on drawing a line and these are empty words. Interest post that you shared with us.

In my former profession lines were drawn and one did not cross it.  In this profession don't dig that line too deep or it may come back to bite you

Hi Sheila: Drawing the line has to be pondered and thought out several times because of the consequences as you have mentioned. It becomes a joke when someone draws it then take it back.

Hello Gayle. Nothing in particular going on that triggered this but thank you.

Hi Myrl. You are a smart cookie and I think your analysis is right on the money. Thank you.

Hello Tammie. No, just thinking out loud and wondering why some are so definitive. Thank you.

Hi Sybil. Actually I'm good but ultimatums never work with or for me. I hope you get some relief.

Hello Evelyn. I couldn't agree more. Thank you.

Hi Joanna. I'm surprised so many thought this was personal: it isn't but thank you anyway.

Hello Debbie. I too try to avoid conflict and avoid those people that thrive on it as well. Thank you.

Hi Marte. I appreciate your support.

Hello Tammy. My isn't a red line actually but that is good I think. Thanks.

Hi Tom. My prevail isn't personal but thank you.

Hello Joe. You are right, some talk but never actually act. Thank you.

When you realize you've reached the end of your rope with a person, it's perfectly okay to draw the line. Some relationships are not meant to last forever. Just know the consequences beforehand.
