Today is National Cappuccino Day!
Did you ever wonder where cappuccino came from? Not me. However, it better be there when I am ready to drink it on a cold and frosty morning!
I read up on cappuccino and I found that the word comes from the the Italian Capuchin Catholic friars. The word Capuchin means hood or something that is worn on the head.
The hot drink itself is named cappuccino not for a hood or head covering...but for the brown color of the friars hooded robes.
Cappuccino, an Italian drink, is made from espresso, hot milk, and steamed-milk foam.
