One of the best reasons to participate in a social media real estate site like ActiveRain is the chance to build relationships with other agents across the country. I was able to do that today with Belinda Spillman.
Belinda is just as friendly on the phone as she is in her commenting. You may be surprised to learn that she's lived in Colorado for 35 years but she was raised in Southern California and often longs for a walk along the beach. Especially, during the cold months of January and February. That being said, she loves being outdoors and the 300 days of sunshine she experiences in Colorado gives her lots of opportunities to get out and enjoy her surroundings.
Belinda's dad was a Marine so she has a tendency to move around a lot. She's owned her current home 10 years which is the longest she's ever lived anywhere. She always has a home improvement project under way.
Belinda has been in real estate since 1996 and opened her own brokerage in 2012 under the name of Aspen Lane Real Estate. She has two other agents in her brokerage, her daughter, Erin, and a close friend, Dan. She previously worked as an accounting manager but got into real estate when a real estate agent couldn't successfully sell her home. Belinda thought she could do better, got her license and had her house sold in two days. It looks like she was right.
