Fairfield County, Connecticut, known as the “Gold Coast”, is one of the wealthiest communities in the state. Located in the southwestern part of Connecticut, the county is known for the active lifestyle it offers, as well as for the incredible views, and its proximity to New York City.
Fairfield County is home to four of the largest cities in the state: Bridgeport, Stamford, Norwalk, and Danbury. It is bounded in the North by Litchfield County, in the East and northeast by Housatonic River, in the South and southeast by the Long Island Sound, and in the West and southwest by the State of New York.

This year 9,533 homes were sold in all of Fairfield County CT.
June, July and August saw the highest total of homes sold. In June 1,127 homes were sold which were the most in one month this year. February was the slowest month with only 461 homes sold.
Greenwich had the highest average sale price of all towns in Fairfield County at $1,845,585. New Canaan and Darien also averaged over $1,500,000. Westport came just under that mark at $1,472,610. Weston, Wilton, Ridgefield, Redding, and Stamford averaged in the $900,000 to $500,000 range.
Over the past 3 years the market has remained rather stable, with average sale prices rising. This year’s average of $592,847 is up from $571,617 in 2013.
