Thankful Thursday – Good People In The World
With all the bad we constantly hear about it’s both refreshing and humbling when you experience someone who’s honest and genuine. In June 2012 I went tubing on the Shenandoah River and had my Otter box tied to my tube. The water was very rough and in one of the rapids it must have come untied. In the box was my license, $20, and my Blackberry. It wasn’t the end of the world, the only thing I was upset about was losing the pictures on my phone. Everything else was easily replaced.
Fast forward to last night when I received the below email.
Someone had not only found the box, they also found me on ActiveRain! I couldn’t believe it. Even though I really thought my phone was gone forever for some reason I’ve kept my BlackBerry charger all of these years. I am so grateful that they took the time to try to find me online. Time is priceless and it was such a thoughtful thing to do. The odds of finding anything in the river are so slim and then to find who they belong to is just amazing. We’ve emailed back and forth a couple times and she is going to mail everything to me this week. There are a ton of photos on my phone, especially ones with my Grandmother before she got sick that I can’t wait to recover. I am hoping that she includes her return address on the package so that I can properly thank her. There are a lot of good people in this world, we just hear more about the bad. I’m feeling extra blessed on this Thankful Thursday.
