Who says Millennial's are lazy?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Zion Realty

The market in Gilbert, Arizona for homes under $200,000 is unbelievably competitive. Houses in the price range within striking distance for first time home buyers are snapped up as quickly as they come up for sale. It can be a struggle to get your buyer in to the home for a showing before the homeowners already have a handful of offers in hand. It takes an agent that keeps their thumb on the pulse every single morning and makes themselves available even at inconvenient times of day just in case that right home shows up on the MLS. I am happy to be that agent who will fight for my buyers to get them the house they want, in the area they want it, and at a price they can manage.

I closed on a home today with my client Jesse who most people wouldn't take a second look at when it comes to thinking he can afford to be a homeowner. He is a youth pastor in training and is just over 20 years old. He would be the exact candidate that you read about in the news about the Millennial generation and how unmotivated and lazy they are. Well not this guy. His parents raised him up right. He started saving for his own home in his late teens and his dreams became a reality today.

Along the way we were outbid a few times on homes that were at the top of his price range and didn't allow him much negotiating room but we kept pounding the pavement every day until the perfect home came up in his most coveted neighborhood. I set a viewing appointment within hours of the home hitting the market and we had his offer over to the homeowner before anyone else even had a chance! I was so happy to hand him the keys this morning!

Paul - They said the same thing about Generation X which I'm apart of and I turned out alright.

Rob - The home search was hard fought on this one but the closing was smooth.

Michael - He had a really good attitude about losing out on those first few houses which helped keep the momentum going.

Kathleen - You can't judge a book by the cover. I bet a lot of people didn't take him seriously when he said he wanted to buy his first home at such a young age.

Bob - He is such a great guy. His girlfriend Lauren in the picture with us is seriously so sweet as well.

Grant - The one thing that has been true about that generation is they want a good deal no matter what it is they are buying. They want as much value for their dollar as they can get and he got it with this home.

Most millionnials that I come across are not lazy, they are pumped up about something and they will find creative ways to get it done

The most important home I sell is YOURS!

I have dealt with several millenials already this year.  Both couples were focused and driven.  Now, they expect technology to do things quickly for them and they research a lot, but hey, doesn't that just make our job easier?  Saying Millenials are lazy is like saying all the Boomers are just waiting to suck money from the government and overburden the health care system.

Joan - He was so excited and I was excited for him!

Lou - Persistence and perseverance will usually win in the end. Wait a minute, that sounds like something you would write.

Tammy - Even when he first sat down and talked to me about helping him find a home I knew he was serious in spite of his age. He carries himself so well.

Roger - His brothers are the same way. I give a lot of credit to their parents.

James - I did write a post earlier about him that's right! I think it was about the letter I sent to the sellers explaining who he was and why I thought they should consider selling their home to him.

Sham - I am finding the same thing.

Jeanne - They do know what they want and they are very budget conscious.
