Proudly serving those who serve us! What is a Hometown Hero and why do I love to serve them? A Hometown Hero is someone who is in a profession that serves the rest of us in some capacity.
The most obvious heroes are those that have served or are currently serving in any branch of the military, and the second most obvious hero is one who has decided to make a career out of keeping us safe on a civilian level or responding to emergency situations that put their own lives at risk, these are primarily the police officers, firefighters and EMT's.
This is a special breed of human being, most people I know would be willing to trade their lives to protect their children or family, but these people do it for all of us. They bust meth labs, go into burning buildings or enlist to go over seas to fight a battle that most us could never possibly imagine, all to keep the rest of us safe.
These are not the only Heroes that are out there, teachers and those in the background in the education profession, the administration, staff and all those people that go to work every day to teach and educate our children and keep them safe.
Many people may not consider the medical profession to be in this category, however, nurses, doctors and all those that work in the medical profession dedicate their lives to helping others.
I personally have a daughter-in-law that is in medical school, she spent 4 years getting a degree in micro-biological engineering, then 6 years working in a hospital and now will spend the next four years studying plus a residency, all to help others live longer and healthier lives, she is literally giving up 10-12 years of her life just to get into this profession that serves others.
Other Heroes include government and state employees and non-profit employees and of course the families of all of these heroes.
I was very fortunate to have joined a company a couple years ago that has partnered with www.HometownHeroes.com in fact this was the biggest reason I joined, I have always felt very good about offering my services and helping people make decisions as it relates to real estate and I have especially enjoyed the golf course communities I serve and helping family and friends, but serving those that serve us has brought an entirely new perspective on what I can do for Americas real heroes, it is a small way to give back to them, but it is something I am incredibly proud to be a part of.
I am very proud to say that I helped a hero close on the sale of her home this past Friday
