Now that I am done w/ my appointments and estimates for the week, I have a full 2 days...to do whatever I want. Part of that is sleeping/resting/doing nothing. Part of it walking/exercising and some BBQ's/time with friends/family...and time w/ myself and my furry friends. Part of it is cleaning. And, this task is kind of cathartic...as long as I do in doses.
I'm not allowing myself to do work work stuff this weekend, but I am allowing myself a few brief spurts of working on my business (rather than in my business). I'm doing a few thinking/strategizing activities and a bit of work on my website. I'm also toying around w/ a few marketing ideas...all of the fun stuff that I love to do.
Anyway, in between cleaning (and before I go out), and at night, I'm doing a bit here and there, and thought I would share my journey. This will be a series of quick blog posts. I figured this might be helpful as some others may be taking this extra day to do some similar work.
The first thing I did was update/expand my "About Me" page. I was inspired by an article I read last night by Gertrude Nonterah's article 11 Elements of a Superstar About page that stands out from the rest.
I spent 15 or 20 minutes enhancing mine. I added a bit of info, my logo, links to my top blog posts and links to my reviews (more abt that in the next post).
Here's another article on the topic from Moz: 9 simple tips for making an about us page that works for your brand. I think I had glanced at this one a week or so ago, so it had planted a seed in my mind.
I may revisit this/enhance it a bit more next weekend. But, for now, I've accomplished what I set out to do.
More to come...now I'm off to do some more cleaning and a walk.
