I have been attending seminars and meetings because of the TRID which is on its way to our front doors soon.
One thing that the guest speaker pointed out was that our email should be encrypted when sending out information via online to another party.
The first time I saw an encrypted email was from a paralegal that my buyer used for his purchase this year. Whenever she sent me an email, I have to sign in with my username and password.
Hence, I can't open it on my I-phone because I don't keep the notes where I put all my passwords and usernames with me. So I told her, "Please don't send me an encrypted email because I am always on the road and can't open it through my smart phone."
She said, "Yes, will do. I don't like using encrypted messsage."
Now, it seems like I have to explore and utilize this message encryption after all. The only way to avoid it is to "Not to send offers or contracts with a copy of Earnest Money Deposit Check."
I don't know yet if wiping out the account number will suffice to be in compliance. I may have to check on that.
So, is your email encrypted? And what do you use to encrypt it?
