Kingwood is preparing to kick off July 4th festivities with the traditional parade. The theme for 2015 is Patriotic Pride. The lineup for the parade begins at the corner of Feather Lakes and West Lake Houston Parkway at 7 AM. Float judging will begin at 9 AM and the parade will kick off at 10 AM from Creekwood Middle School on Sandy Forks. The parade ends at Kingwood High School. All parade participants must register and fill out an entry form. For entry information or any questions about the event, contact the Kingwood Civic Club.
The Kingwood Civic Club also organizes the Fishing Rodeo! It will take place before the parade. The Fishing Rodeo is from 6:00 AM - 7:30 AM at Foster's Mill ponds at the corner of Kingwood Drive & Forest Garden. Youth ages 15 and younger are invited to bring their fishing gear to the ponds and compete for trophies in different categories. No registration is required.
Later on in the evening - check out the fireworks! At The Overlook in Atascocita, you'll enjoy a patio dance with the Mambo Jazz Kings from 6 PM - 10 PM. You can bring picnic blankets, chairs & non-alcoholic beverages in your cooler. There will be Splash Stations for the kids and refreshments. The Fireworks Show will begin at 9:30 PM. Our office, Keller Williams Northeast is sponsoring those fireworks - so start practicing your "oohs" and "aahs" now! The Overlook is located at 20114 Pinehurst Drive.
