Is Your Marketing Artificial or Real?

By
Real Estate Agent with DFW FINE PROPERTIES 0506509

MARKETING

It's fun to learn new concepts and ideas for marketing your business; however, is your marketing now or soon to be artificial or real? To me, marketing real means being real time, you're present with people communicating with a show and tell mentality, demonstrating and answering questions. Artificially speaking, the consumer is in the privacy of their own home or space seeing what they want to see, when they want to see it, where they can see it, and whether or not they buy or contact you, it doesn't matter - they are discovering what you have to market through their eyes artificially in an interesting way.

MARKETING STRATEGY

Yesterday, I was introduced to a new marketing strategy for listing new properties on the market. This company offers:

  • Twilight Photography
  • Virtual Staging
  • Elevated Photography
  • Branded Listing Videos with Narration
  • Custom single Property Website
  • Same-Day & Next-Day Rush Delivery

THE ECONOMIST

I read a recent article by The Economist on the topic of Artificial Intelligence. One sentence stuck with me like glue, "Dread that the abominations people create will become their masters, or their executioners, is hardly new." My thoughts on this topic flipped through a nanosecond of time like a Rolodex resurrected from the landfill!

WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET

What you see when I sit down before you to promote my business is what you get. Here's what you get to see:

  • Rain or shine, night or day, wet or dry, I'm real.
  • I'm a living, breathing, talking person in real color, not tinted or fake.
  • You will gain comfort with how I communicate with you, or you won't.
  • I will show you what's affordable; not tempt you with things that don't exist.
  • I will be honest and real, not seductive or lure you into a trap.
  • You will be introduced to other professionals to customize a plan for you.

THE LURE OF ATTRACTION

In my professional opinion, the problem with artificial marketing strategies is that it becomes a fantasy and not a reality. I do not live in a Twilight world. Google the word twilight and you'll find the Twilight series about vampires, fantasy, and romance. My fear is that when people get trapped into an artificial marketing means it becomes a romantic way to lure you into a world that doesn't exist. Not all skies are blue. Everyone doesn't have a pool the color of the Caribbean Sea with an oasis backyard and those that do have to be able to afford it and year round maintenance too. There is nothing wrong with Stagers or Home Designers and most will work with you using the materials you have or can afford. There is something to be said for being in existence because people do not live in a fantasy world and if they did, they would be imaginary people or financially broke. Do not let the vampires of the world take your money or fool you, that's my opinion and I'm sticking with what I know best - REALITY.

Love the title of your post. Delighted that it was featured, well deserved.

I promise you, my marketing will be real and so will yours, we wouldn't know another way.

Patricia "Rolodex" now there is a word I have not seen in a long time.

We have to be "real" in everything we do.  Anything else has a very short life span.

Entertaining perspective, Patricia!  I have to caution my agents about this very thing - pretentious, over-photoshopping, and cliches - those are our daily demons!

People buy perception and end up with reality.

Real is best but creativity is on the rise. I've seen more creative photos of homes than I care to. Night shots that looks like they are on fire and pools that actually look creepy with odd colors and steam. Can't imagine any of my sellers settling for this type of marketing. Real is best.

Patricia, we are working with people, not robots and we do live in planet earth. There are some great gadgets out there that we could "play" around with, however, real buyers do preview homes in person..

I personally like illustrating options to undecided buyers, not to steer them but to open their perceptions to change and transformation.  Reality is difficult to illustrate unless you have the tools to illustrate the change or transformation.

To improve anything requires change, doesn't it, so strike one for Artificial Intelligence?

Good post.   I come across a few fakers.  I am down to earth and I have had sellers and or buyers tell me that I am real and down to earth.  I think people know when someone is phony.

It's a slippery slope when we start to make houses look on-line nothing like they do in person. It's setting the buyers up for disappointment when the spectacular photos and virtual staging doesn't translate when they are viewing the home and they see the few stains on the carpet or the cracks in the drywall. They'll become instantly dissatisfied and it's not the fault of the home. The home has always been the home, flaws and all.

Thanks to everyone who provided such great and meaningful commentaries. It's important to be genuine and not a phony. Nobody respects a phony bologna!
