A Few Guidelines To Be Pet-Smart When Marketing Your Home

Some buyers just don’t appreciate pets, with all the sights, mess, sounds, and smells that go with them. So, to keep potential customers focused on your house, and not your pet, follow these simple tips:

  • Wash and put away the pet toys and food bowls or other accessories.
  • Refresh the kitty litter or just place it outside or in the garage.
  • Check your yard for doggie doo.
  • Use room or carpet deodorizer or perhaps have them steam cleaned.
  • Send your pet on vacation during showings or a neighbor if possible.

You love your pet. But it’s your house that you’re trying to sell.

Winston very good information on pets. They may like the house but not the pets or odors.

Good advice....I usually suggest hiding ALL evidence of pets for the best results!

It makes sense to me Winston Heverly.  The fewer distractions, the better.

Always more complicated when selling a house with pets, especially dogs. And sellers forget that people don't always love household pets.

Winston- cannot express this kind of information enough!  Even if your buyer loves pets, they don't want to see evidence of yours.
