Here I am vacationing on Pompano Beach with the lighthouse to my left, the Atlantic Ocean stretching beyond eyesight. Often five freighters or cruise ships dot the horizon. Closer are the giant yachts coming out of Hillsboro Inlet. The dingies attached to the top of these yachts are larger than the big boats in my town of Dunedin, Fl.
And here I sit after a remarkable day of learning.
It started with an article in the Sept 2015 edition of Architectural Digest. In the article titled 'CLEAR VISION' these comments of a homeowner are recorded. These comments are at the heart of why every real estate professional wants to do what they do.
The homeowner shares, "I was a kid from a small town in Mississippi and I couldn't believe....you could live inside art."
His wife adds, "My favorite time of day is sunset, when I stand outside and see the house glowing warm and serene, like a Japanese lantern. And I can't decide: Do I want to be out here, admiring the beauty, or do I want to be inside the beauty? It's a lovely problem to have."
Husband agrees, He says that some nights, as he's driving up to the house after work, he almost can't believe his good fortune. "This is not my beautiful house." Then he remembers, 'YES IT IS!'
But this is not what this blog is really about.
In that same publication was an ad for the Jamali Gallery on Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I'm a fan, so away I went.
At the studio I was greeted by Troy. At this point on, my real education began.
I would encourage all professionals whose income is contingency based to experience the 'value added' methods demonstrated at this gallery. These techniques, in every way, are directly applicable to our real estate business.
Be prepared. Wear a little art bling or an outstanding piece of jewelry. Then when asked, 'Are you a collector?" respond, "Not at this time but I want to be."
Make note of the education process about the 'purpose of art,' the familiarization techniques, the assurance building, the shepherding, and finally the benefits offered.
So pleasantly completed. And when I left I felt Troy had indeed made me smarter and a greater fan of Jamali. I did not buy that evening, but there is a $6,800 opportunity I trust still exists next month.
If you are within five hours of Fort Lauderdale, you should allow yourself the opportunity to see, hear, feel and be immersed in a real experience.
In the Architectural Digest 'Clear Vision' article and my experience at Jamili gallery, both exemplify the pursuit of dreams and of dreams come true. One living a dream in art, the other living in passion with art.
Where does your passion live? Please leave a comment.
Best of success to you,
