Do you ever wonder why people choose where they live... What makes that community or neighborhood special to them?  I thought it would be fun to share some of the reason why I believe the community of Portola Hills in Lake Forest is a great place to call home!

5.  Variety of Housing:  Portola Hills is a well thought out master planned community and home to over 2100 residences.  There are a wide variety of home styles and price ranges available that can meet most Southern California budgets, including Townhomes, Single Family Detached, Paired Homes and Luxury Estates, within the 15 different neighborhoods throughout the area.

4.  Home Values:  Overall in the current Orange County real estate market home values are up on average between 5-7%.  Portola Hills home values consistently exceed the rest of the county.   The median home price in July 2015 was up 35% from July 2014.    Low resale home inventory and strong buyer demand fuel this increase.  

3.   Schools:   Portola Hills has access to some of the best public and private schools around South Orange County as part the Saddleback Unified School District.   In the heart of the community is  Portola Hills Elementary a award winning school.

2.  Location:   Portola Hills is strategically located on the east end of Lake Forest.  Nestled upgainst the Saddleback Mountains. It provides easy access to major employment sectors within Orange County, as well entertainment venues, such Disneyland, Angels Baseball, Ducks Hockey, etc with easy access to the 405/5 Fwy and the 241 Toll Road.

 


1.  Recreation and Culture:   What makes Portola Hills so special...  I believe most residents would agree it is the lifestyle it provides.  It is scenic, unclutered, close to nature but not too far away from the daily Orange County hustle. It is a great place to come home to with breathtaking panoramic views, tree lined streets, open space with a variety of trails for hiking, biking and equestrain at the back drop of Whiting Wilderness Park.  

In additon, residences in Portola Hills have access to a wide range of activities within the community there are 5 different Homeowner Assocations that give residences access to some great Pools, Gyms, Tennis Courts, Volleyball Courts, Clubhouses, Basketball courts with a nice open court and park at Concourse Community Park.

I might be a little bias in my view of Portola Hills, as I moved to this community in 1995.  I grew up in the hustle of Central Orange County and when I came to find Portola Hills, I instantly felt like it was home. The openess, rolling hillsides, spectaluar view are a lovely aspect of life to come home to!
