Autumn Aromas and Tastes have Arrived!

By
Real Estate Agent with Sotheby's International Realty Canada - Brokerage

I posted a question about whether or not you advise your Sellers to bake in the Autumn to get the aroma flavouring the home . . .

I was asked to post my Cinnamon Apple Loaf recipe so here it is!  (I haven't any photos because it disappeared like magic!!)

Cinnamon Apple Loaf

Preheat oven to 350 degrees then either line a loaf pan with parchment paper (easiest) or grease and flour it.  (I ask my husband to do this if I have no parchment!)

Mix together 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 2 tsp of cinnamon and then set it aside.

In a large bowl, cream together 1/2 cup of room temperature butter with 2/3 cup of white sugar with electric mixer til mixed and creamy.

Add in 2 eggs and continue mixing and then add 2 tsp vanilla.

In another bowl sift or whisk together 1 1/2 cups of flour and 2 tsp of baking powder

Add this to the butter mixture and then slowly add in 1/2 cup of milk until all is blended.

Peel, core, and chop 1 or 2 apples, depending on size.

Pour HALF of this batter into your loaf pan and then sprinkle HALF the apples over the mixture and then sprinkle HALF of your Brown Sugar mixture over this.

Pour the remaining batter over this and then add the remaining apples and again sprinkle with the brown sugar mixture.

Using the end of a spoon, swirl the topping thru the batter a little.

Bake for 40 - 50 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.

Your home will smell wonderful and you can leave out cut slices of this loaf for your Realtor!!!

If it is just the sweet part Hannah Williams I know you can use sugar substitutes for both the white and the brown sugars and it still works out well.   If it is carbs that you're counting, sorry!  Thanks for stopping by.

Susan - that sounds absolutely delicious.  Who you suggest it might be a faster sale with this left out for visitors?

Stevia is quite good. The plant Stevia rebaudiana has been used for more than 1,500 years by the Guaraní peoples of South America, who called it ka'a he'ê ("sweet herb"). The leaves have been used traditionally for hundreds of years in both Brazil and Paraguay to sweeten local teas and medicines, and as a "sweet treat"

Susan, I've already bookmarked this post so I can make this recipe in October.  Too hot down here to be thinking of autumn yet.  Just reading through the ingredients is making my mouth water, though!  Thanks for sharing the recipe.  Too bad the post didn't include a photo, though I have a good imagination!

Hi, Susan...this sounds amazing. I might actually have to try it. I say that because I really don't cook much. I will can things to have for winter time use, but I'm really not much of a cook.
