So What’s For Dinner in Pasadena?

What's For Dinner in Pasadena

In Pasadena and the surrounding San Gabriel Valley, there are lots of dining options.  From casual to finer and from all over the world.

What’s your preference?

Smitty's Grill Feeling American?  Maybe Smitty's Grill(photo #2) on South Lake Avenue.

Comfort food but not so upscale?   Longtime Pasadena favorite Pie ‘n Burger is on California Boulevard not far from Caltech. I suggest it more for breakfast or lunch but hey you can be the judge.

Vertical Wine BistroSomething in the popular Old Pasadena area? The choices are seemingly countless in this vibrant part of the city -- maybe start at Vertical and then on to Mi Piace for some Italian fare.

Walk around and let your nose be your guide - you are certain to find something enticing. Don't miss the alleyways --- there can be a unique dining discovery.

SaladangLooking for Thai?  Many choices can be found in and around Pasadena.  I like Saladang(shown in photo #4)  -- I hear there are some changes in store there.   It can be found on South Fair Oaks not far from Old Pas and next door to sister restaurant Saladang Song.  Not far away at the corner of Glenarm and Marengo avenues is Rice Thai Tapas -- yummy too(photo #5).

Rice Thai Tapas

Need a suggestion for Mexican food, tapas, sushi or Indian? You name it and it's likely found in Southern California. Interesting cuisines are plentiful in Pasadena, the San Gabriel Valley and throughout Los Angeles County.    So many choices.

Perhaps you are looking to stay at home.  That’s an excellent idea too. And if you need a new place to explore and create those meals -- I can help with that too.  Contact me for your real estate needs in and around Pasadena.   Whether you are considering buying or selling, let’s discuss what is important to you.  I can be reached at 818.516.4393 cell.   As far as dinner is concerned, I'm making reservations. How about you?

Michael good thing I ate some snacks before reading your post, as you and Ron and Alexandra Seigel  know I love to eat good food. I have always preferred small portions but lots of different one. That way I can taste many more flavors and "try to steal the recipe" to recreate at home:)) so clearly photo #5 got my interest....Endre

I haven't even thought about what's for dinner yet.  It's been a while since I had a steak though.

Hi Michael - Right now I'm in a pie and burger mood, in that order, too, but if you want to come over and cook something for us, that's cool too.

Michael- you have no idea how happy I am that I've already eaten.  That said, what I had pales in comparison to what you mentioned.

So many great choices for wonderful food in Pasadena.  I've been so good for three months, treating myself occasionally to a meal out.  Yesterday I was jones'n for a burger, so I went to Five Guys and had a double bacon cheeseburger and fries for lunch and for dinner I cooked a half pound of pasta. Back on track today!

When I lived in Pasadena, the Spaghetti Factory was the place to go. Is it still there? cheers cvc

Curtis Van Carter - the closest The Old Spaghetti Factory is in Duarte about ten miles east of Pasadena.  I haven't been there in years -- it's in an old school house converted to restaurant just north of the Foothill(210) Freeway.

Hi, Michael...your title got me to click. I love food and hearing about restaurant options in other areas. I know you have a great selection of dining in your area. We have about seven restaurants in Cedaredge. I've done them all. Over and over again.
