Turkey has shot down a Russian plane for violating Turkey's border. It is not the first time Russians violated the border of Turkey. Russia has done it in the recent past, and was just recently warned that Turkey would have no chice but shoot.
So, they did.
I do not believe even for a second that Russian plane did not violate the border of Turkey. The pilots knew that they were violating the border. Not only they did it intentionally, I am sure they had a direct order to do just that.
And those who gave this direct order WANTED THE PLANE DOWN. Putin wanted a plane down. They provoked several times, and Turkey did not do it, so they kept provoking, knowing perfectly that it would happen sooner or later.
No, I am not cynical...
So, why would Russians want the plane down?
First, Putin is probing the West. He wants to see how the leaders of the West respond.
Putin is building this feeling for the West that bridges are on fire, and they get nervous. Putin wants to make sure NATO would start closing its eyes on "small" violations here and there, so that they avoid a conflict. He wants to make NATO avoid confrontation, and throw their own members under the bus if Putin annexes yet something else.
No, Putin would not attack or invade Turkey. It is not his goal. His goal is to destabilize/invade the Baltic Countries. Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia… Do you believe NATO would defend their newest NATO members? They are so insignificant... should they anger the bear?
I am sure you know that Russia is constantly provoking the Baltic countries in the air and in the Sea. Practically daily. And they are NATO countries and should enjoy NATO protection... but the West is getting tired and does not wnat to protect them...
Chamberlains are all over…
Second, the reason Putin needed this plane down. He already said that Russia would increase the military presence in Syria to very dangerous levels, and they are sending S-400 (Triumf) anti-aircraft missile system with the range of 120 to 400 Km (about 250 miles).
Now this is a very big thing. To get the justification, they needed the pretext. After all, rebels in Syria do not have aircrafts, so why Russians needs a powerful air defence system? But now America and the world are on notice. Those, who are flying missions in Syria, they are now relatively easy targets.Every plane in Syria is now Russian target.
So, if you are curious about what happened and why, here is the scenario.Putin started with annexing the Crimea and then destabilizing the Ukraine. It was so far from US, and many keep saying that this is a problem between the ukraine and Russia, it is not a US problem...
now Russia slowly but surely started destabilizing Middle East... and now is a direct threat to US. World is small and a good bully move fast. What is next from Putin? For the remaining time of our Pretender-in-Chief, imagine what Putin will achieve.
And as always, so many big names and generals give wrong answers. Or, Turkey was not supposed to shoot down a Russian plane.
Why? Because Putin is fighting in Syria, he is now allowed to do what he pleases and how he pleases? This is exactly what Putin wants. Why are we playing his game.
Politics is not difficult, until you start using double standards. Imagine a small country, which does not have nukes, doing this. Would the world be so concerned? Would anyone say Turkey shouldn’t have taken their plane down? What if Ukrainians do this?
The answer is yes, if you keep violating the borders, your planes would go down. This is the language, which bullies understand. Actually, this is the only language bullies understand.
Or we want our planes becoming the target? Are we like Putin and do not care about lives?
This is no incident. This is the case of violating the border, and being punished for that. You do not want your planes be shot down? Play by the rules. Bullies should not get a free pass.
The sandbox should be the same for everyone.
When I am not writing about Russia, I am writing about Real Estate (and should be doing more of that). And yes, we are selling condos in Daytona Beach area.
