What is it that separates the boys from the men when it comes to cars? We didn't have much money getting married out of high school/Army, but we had cars. Many would be collectors now. My man could tear apart an engine, redo and paint a body, turn a hunk of junk into a showcase car, he drag raced, we went to the Indy 500's, he received trophies (no cash) but when he died leaving me a widow in my early 30's he left me with no life insurance, 5 cars that wouldn't start, a boat with a cracked block, two snowmobiles (that I had to fetch and tow out of the woods), and a trailer too big for my driveway. I sold them all and paid cash for a simple means of transportation. All I was left with after that was two great kids who I put through college, including myself.
Maybe Richard Pryor, Dale Earnhardt, & Barry Sanders figured out the secret to life and happiness sooner in life than most. --- Patricia Feager 12/13/15
