Today was the first time in almost a week that i got out of the house. And I took this leaving my office to go home. It's knee + deep piles of snow in front of the office door. It's no longer pristine and white. It's getting that layer of soot and car exhaust. It's supposed to get into the mid-40s tomorrow. Maybe it'll only be ankle high when I go home tomorrow.
Hi Pat --- well, it's dirty but it's neat --- it still looks much better in photos than in person. Brrr.

Hannah, the official count was 19 inches at National Airport, but there is some squabbling about their measurement techniques. And in town it was a lot higher. We're pretty clear on all of the major traffic arteries, but the side streets in many neighborhoods are still pretty snowy.
Linda, there is a huge pile, about six feet high, in front of my car. All of the weekend shovelers seemed to pile it on. And it's now like a big ice cube. It'll take a while to go away!
Praful, I remember being in Boston once during a heavy snow, and it was business as usual.
Patricia, luckily I don't have to walk to school! That would be just awful.
Kat, it's supposed to get up to 44 today, and I'm just hoping for a meltdown in the parking lanes on my block.
That's insane! I really just couldn't do it day in and day out.

I hope it melts soon, Patricia. Sounds like you need a warm rain to scour it out and clean things up.

Patricia it is very different here in Middletown, CT. The temperatures have been warm enough so that the 12" of snow we got on Saturday is all most all gone.
From the comfort of the West Coast it sure "looked like fun" until we started seeing the pictures of the aftermath! Stay safe, warm and looking forward to the Robins!

This weekend should bring a big melt from what I understand. I am down to ice in the driveway, which I fell on last night and smashed my head.

Washing needs some warmer whether help melt the snow.
Good luck and success.

Pat - I finally got out on Wednesday. I'm looking for a little bit of help from mother nature.
YIKES....we had it pretty bad last year, but this year we are good. Fingers crossed...we have had it easy so far this year.
Snow is always nice when it first falls, but living with it for days is no fun.
