Thankful Thursday 3/10/16

Yesterday it was almost 80 degrees here in West Chester.  For the better part of the day I did no real estate as it was simply joyful to be doing yard cleanup in March!  I was outside most of the day, got a tiny bit of color on my nose, got a wireless dog fence set up for my little dog and filled 3 bags with yard waste from inside the pool fence.

The dog fence is a subject for another less thankful post.  It's a hearing world and to test the fence, you need to be able to hear beeps.  In order to test the fence, I had to continually shock myself around my 1/2 an acre yard, so that I could put those silly little flags outside.  The truth is, all JJ needs to hear is the beep and he won't go anywhere near the line.  If only he could talk, he could have told me where to place the flags!

Today, while it may get cool later, it feels like summer and there's nothing that makes me happier than a summer day.  My little cat posed for my portrait of "cat on a messy desk" and I'm always thankful for a visit from one of my two cats while I'm working.  One or the other usually stops at my desk for a quick lovefest and JJ can usually be found sitting behind me on my desk chair.  What more can a person ask for?

Cat on a messy desk

So today, I am thankful for warm weather, no matter what the season.  I am thankful, as always, for my cats and my little dog.  I am thankful for so many things but for today, these few things seem like enough.

Susan, Enjoying the warm weather and the fact that with all the rain yesterday that if it had been cold, we'd have a bunch of inches of snow on the ground!  We have a handful of crocus blooming in the front lawn (not nearly as many as usual....curses to you little furry varmits under the ground eating the bulbs!!) and our daffodils are fast approaching full bloom.  Good to get the other side of freezing temps!!

We have also been very thankful for a wonderfully warm winter. All week we are expecting high temps DOUBLE the normal. This is such a blessing for those struggling to pay their heat bills and those who have a hard time shoveling during the winter Susan Mangigian

I too am very thankful for the warmness.  I'm not however excited about the storms it will bring.

Gita,  thanks and you have a great weekend!

Bliz, I was noticing that last year's photos on Facebook had a ton of crocuses by now and this year, I haven't seen any.  And last winter was much more harsh.  Weird.

Bob, I never looked at it this year.  The entire winter has been kinder to my electric bills!

Tammy, I am not excited about storms either!

Richie, it was glorious.  I just took my dog for a walk again today.  Sigh!!!1

It's the first time our daffodils bloomed before the crocus (crocii?), although the crocus started popping open yesterday, there's (so far) not nearly as many.  I think we planted about 500 bulbs 4-5 years ago and we'll be lucky if 100 of them bloom this year.

Glad you're enjoying some early summertime weather, hope it sticks around and Spring is good to you!  We're seeing new flowers bloom and lots of green around these parts, too, thanks to some springtime showers : )
