Family Time Means No Blogging Time
Special family celebrations – the birthday for our older daughter and the 1st birthday for our granddaughter – took us to LA yesterday morning through this evening. It was wonderful to have the whole family together to celebrate, as well as to enjoy visiting, catching up on life in general, taking lots of photos of festivities, watching the grandkids play together, and enjoying great food. Plus lots of individual personal time.
Times like this are to be cherished, and blogging has to take a backseat to family time.
Yes, guilt sets in, when the usual time for commenting, Q’s and A’s, and writing articles must play second fiddle to the more important family time during the day.
Oh, there were a few escapes to check email on the iPad on multiple transactions that are in key stages that must be attended to, and my family, knowing what I do, understands my need to step away briefly for business.
But family time means no blogging time and it must, and should, be this way. Family, whatever that is on a personal level, comes first, right?!
I really enjoy my writing, and commenting, and sharing information online, and responding to questions and requests. But I respect others’ needs for family and personal time, and I want them to respect mine.
So while I give up my writing, and commenting, and answering questions when family time is the priority, I gain the personal time that is so special and cannot be replaced.
My family time is my time, just as your family time is yours! Thanks for understanding!
