2016 Pancreatic Cancer Research 18-Hole Stroll On August 7th is at the The Travelers Championship, TPC River Highlands, Cromwell, CT this year. Three years ago of our ActiveRain members here in CT, Gail Robinson, lost her husband Bill to Pancreatic Cancer. Gail Robinson is one of the nicest, and most courageous person I have met. The battle her and her husband Bill fought with Pancreatic Cancer the last few years of his life were both an inspirational, and heartfelt one for me. The end of that battle for Bill was not the one many of us here on ActiveRain had hoped and prayed for. But even though Bill's fight with Pancreatic Cancer came to an end, it does not mean others can not carry on the battle to bring an end to this horrible and deadly disease.
While there are several Races and Walks for cancer going on in the area, this is the only one I have seen advertised for Pancreatic Cancers in this year. All the efforts to raise money to try to cure this disease which rears its head in many horrible ways, are worth our contributions, volunteer work, and prayers.
I would encourage all who are reading this blog to pass on the word, and encourage those you know to contribute in the battle to put an end to cancer. Whether the involvement is this Pancreatic Cancer event, or the many Races & Walks that are also being held on behave of Breast Cancer, get involved in one way or another.
This Sunday, August 7th is an opportunity to begin your involvement by participating in the 2016 Pancreatic Cancer Research 18-Hole Stroll. Your efforts can go a long way in making this event to raise money and awareness for Pancreatic Cancer a success. If you cannot be there, contact them at the Cure Pancreatic Cancer Lustgarten Foundation and make a financial contribution.
